Dr. James H. Stewart, Jr. Scholarship

Dr. James H. Stewart, Jr. Scholarship was established as a permanent tribute to the leadership of Dr. James H. Stewart, Jr. as the first President of Tyler State College and first President of it’s successor, Texas Eastern University. Dr. Stewart’s devotion to his charge is truely an inspiration, not only to his Board but also to the entire business and educational community in our area. The scholarship is available University wide to support for UT Tyler students enrolled full time maintaining 3.0 GPA.
