Anderson Endowment

Norma Anderson Carpenter was a native of Arp, Texas. She graduated from U.T. Austin and worked as a secretary for Howe-Baker Engineers, Inc., for 25 years. Always appreciative of the importance of education, Norma directed that the endowment be dedicated to the memory of her father, Hugh Anderson, a former Smith County Commissioner. Norma requested that scholarship recipient preference be given to female students completing Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science. Anderson Endowment Funds are to be used to provide scholarships with preference given to female students completing a B.S. in Computer Science.
