The Elizabeth Ann, Lila, and Melvin Alsbury Endowed Presidential Scholarship shall be used for worthy students majoring in Electrical Engineering. Mr. And Mrs. Grund established the scholarshop to carry out the wishes of Mrs. Grund’s late sister Mrs. Lila Alsbury. The Alsbury’s were from Big Spring, Texas. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for the Federal Aviation Agency and she was an accountant for Fina OIl Corporation. Their daughter Elizabeth Ann, had planned to attend the University of Texas at Arlington but died of Hodgkins Disease at the age of 18. After her husbands death, Mrs Ashbury moved to Jacksonville TX.
