Ezra and Ruthie Mae Tidwell Scholarship

Funds distributed from the Ezra and Ruthie Tidwell Scholarship will provide scholarship support for incoming freshmen students, with first preference given to descendants of a graduate of Emmett J. Scott High School, which was located in Tyler, Texas. If there are no qualified applicants who meet that criteria, then funds distributed shall be used to provide scholarship support to incoming freshman students who are graduates of a high school located in the Tyler, Texas Independent School District. Recipients shall be selected by an official University scholarship committee.
