UT Tyler Presidential Rose Scholar

A UT Tyler Presidential Rose Scholar is defined as a student who would be an exemplary representative on behalf of The University of Texas at Tyler. This scholar will represent UT Tyler by attending Presidential, donor, and community events as specified. This includes but is not limited to greeting guests at Cowan Center shows, grand opening ceremonies, white coat ceremonies, and Homecoming. Students assist with Presidential and UT Tyler donor events, maintain any required office hours, and participate in community events representing UT Tyler at the discretion of the Office of Community Partnerships & Special Events. The specific calendar of events and expectations will be given to the selected students at a later date.

The UT Tyler Presidential Rose Scholar Scholarship* Benefits include:

  3. Required Qualifications: 1. Successful completion of at least one year at UT Tyler (at least one fall & spring semester or one full academic year) 2. Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at UT Tyler and plan to be enrolled for Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 semesters as an undergraduate student in at least 6 hours each semester, 3. Minimum of 2.5 cumulative UT Tyler G.P.A. each semester, 4. Completion of all pieces of the Presidential Rose Scholar Application by April 6, 5. Available for an in-person interview that will be held on the main Tyler campus in late April (specific interview dates will be communicated directly with the Presidential Rose Scholar finalists). 6. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, leadership skills and experience, strong connection to UT Tyler, and the ability to effectively represent UT Tyler at community events.

Be sure to showcase your creativity! We ask that all videos be submitted through a YouTube link. Follow the directions below to create an account and upload a video. How to Create a YouTube Account: 1. Go to Youtube.com 2. Click on the video icon at the top right-hand side of the window, which can be found next to your user icon, messages, apps, and notifications. 3. Click "Upload Video." 4. Press "select files to upload" to find the video file saved on your computer, or you can drag and drop it into the window. If you have recorded your video on your phone, you can upload the video but note that it will take a bit longer to upload. We recommend that you upload the video to your computer but it should work in either case. 5. Choose the privacy settings on your video.
